Plant Breeding Annual Retreat
December 14-15, 2020

You're invited to the 2020 Annual Plant Breeding Retreat, hosted by the UC Davis Plant Breeding Center. Given our uncertain circumstances, we are planning to adapt our content for a virtual retreat, while still focusing on the elements of networking and fostering collaboration that are the touchstones of this conference.

Faculty, researchers, post docs, and graduate and undergraduate students interested in plant breeding are invited to register for this two-day event, which will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 PM each day.

The theme for this retreat is Breeding for Resilience, and keynote speakers include Drs. Eduardo Blumwald and Siobhan Brady. The agenda will feature talks and panels with speakers from UCs, CSUs, and Cal Poly Pomona, and we will have plenty of opportunities for networking.

Plant Breeding Video Contest

We are also inviting graduate and undergraduate students to participate in the Plant Breeding Video Contest. Winners will be chosen at the 2020 Plant Breeding Annual Retreat, and videos will be hosted on the PBC website. Deadline to submit videos is Friday, December 4th.

Videos should be instructional in nature, and between 2 and 5 minutes in length. Individuals or groups of students can work together to create instructional content related to plant breeding one of three categories: Field Work, Lab Work, or Greenhouse Work.

All videos deemed suitable will be hosted in a gallery on the Plant Breeding Center website. Your videos will contribute to an invaluable educational resource.

We will select three winners total, one for each category. Grand prize for each winning video will be $200.
